Welcome to Lue + Vue Stories! A place of gathered interviews focused on solo + family travel with the emphasis of community.

Lue + Vue is a play on the french words, lire: To Read and voir: To See. Lue + Vue Travel was inspired by my constant desire to talk, dream, and research travel. I feel that we learn every time we travel and there is no one right way to do so. I believe we learn from each other both in travel and in life. Lue + Vue is a space to read about how others have traveled. It’s a place to see what worked, what didn’t. A space to hear funny stories. A space to be inspired. A space to find the confidence to travel. Follow along to read and see. This space is dedicated to learning from one another in a respectful and curious way.

About me: I’m Kirsti. A mom, travel lover, and Francophile. I live in beautiful, Californian wine country with my two young boys and winemaker husband. When I’m not operating our small wine label, learning French, or listening to podcasts about 17th century history (you know the type with ads for lawn mowers and beard trimmers), I can be found asking anyone and everyone about their most recent or upcoming trip. I studied fine arts at the University of Utah and afterwards followed my heart West to California. I discovered a love for travel at an early age and found that exploration was always at the center of my life – from my very first and very unprepared trip to France at the age of 19, to a getting lost in Budapest – pre-cell phone days, to now, someone who is always planning or dreaming about the next trip… I found leaning into other’s stories as a place to glean information and a place to dream. This desire to talk travel awakened something in me, so, I started Lue + Vue. “L+V” is a resource to connect with community over travel stories. Traveling has had a profound impact on my life in helping find confidence and create deeper connections with my family.  This space is dedicated to learning from each other, through real, authentic and hilarious stories. What works for me may not work for you, but through many stories we can all learn from one another.

Thanks for following along!

XO – Kirsti
